SBMiniatures · The story behind the brand

Built from a passion for miniatures.

From model making and tabletop gaming to 3D printing and an independent shop: SBMiniatures grew from Kris’ long-standing hobby and is now being developed further by Kris & Selina together.

Behind SBMiniatures

Not an anonymous shop. Meet Kris & Selina.

SBMiniatures has stayed personal. Its roots lie in Kris’ long-standing passion for model making, tabletop and 3D printing. Today, Kris & Selina are behind the shop together. Miniatures are therefore more than products to us: we know the anticipation of a new model, the hours that can disappear into painting, and how much a great miniature can add to a game night or display shelf.

The independent shop is more than a relaunch for us. It is the opportunity to build SBMiniatures the way we would want a good hobby shop to be: personal, clear, useful and full of miniatures that make you want to start the next project.

The road to SBMiniatures

From the hobby desk to an independent shop.

SBMiniatures did not happen overnight. It grew through years of model making, tabletop gaming, painting, early 3D printing experiments and countless conversations with fellow hobbyists.

  1. 01
    From childhood

    Model making becomes a passion

Building, painting and working on small details fascinated Kris from an early age. Model making became the foundation for everything that followed.

  2. 02
    Teenage years

    Tabletop opens a new world

As a teenager, Kris discovered Warhammer with a few friends. Modelling, painting, storytelling and gaming came together — and sparked a lasting passion for tabletop.

  3. 03
    The first 3D printers

From analogue craft to digital production

When the first accessible 3D printers arrived, Kris bought one right away. The technology added an entirely new dimension to the hobby and provided the first hands-on experience with 3D printing.

  4. 04
    2022

    SBMiniatures starts on Etsy

What began as a hobby became SBMiniatures. Kris opened the first Etsy shop in 2022. It grew quickly, and the direct exchange with more and more customers became one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.

  5. 05
    March 2025

    A deliberate pause

For personal reasons, SBMiniatures took a break in March 2025. The pause created space to reset and decide what the next chapter should look like.

  6. 06
    2026

    A new adventure begins

Now Kris and Selina are taking SBMiniatures into its next chapter together — with a completely new independent shop, fresh energy and the same fascination for miniatures, tabletop and 3D printing that started it all.

What matters to us

Built with hobbyists in mind.

Our own hobby experience shapes how we build SBMiniatures — from the models themselves to useful information about preparation, painting and shipping.

01

Details worth painting

Resin 3D printing is particularly suited to fine structures, faces, armour and textures — the details that make painting and displaying miniatures rewarding.

02

Hobby knowledge, not a call centre

Questions about scale, preparation, painting or a project do not disappear into an anonymous support system. Personal communication is part of what SBMiniatures should be for us.

03

Care through to shipping

Delicate miniatures need attention when packed. Visual inspection, suitable protection and a sensible shipping process are all part of the overall experience.

04

Sharing hobby knowledge

A good shop should not end at the cart for us. That is why SBMiniatures includes guides and FAQs about resin, care and painting that remain useful after the purchase.

The next chapter

2026: Back and ready for new adventures.

After taking a break from March 2025, SBMiniatures is starting again — this time on its own platform, with Kris & Selina behind the shop together. The goal remains the same: miniatures that inspire stories, painting projects and the next game night.
